Every bit of truth, every hardship gladly borne, every act of goodness. Even the powers of the great masters.
None of it ever came to anyone without You. It is given by Your grace. Once Your grace is flowing, nothing can dam it up.
Your best qualities are gifts. They were given to you, not won.
This is about Gurprasad, grace, the One's free gift. Truth, hardship gladly carried and goodness are all named here. So are the siddhis, the special spiritual powers of the great yogis. None of it, the verse says, came to anyone without You.
The last line has a strong picture. Karam milai naahee thaak rahaa-ee-aa — it comes by grace, and nothing can block it. Grace is not a tiny trickle you have to guard. It is a river in flood. Once it is running, it rolls right past every rock in its way. This keeps us from the pride that clever, measuring minds can grow. Think of a musician who plays beautifully. The talent, the ears and the love of music all came as gifts first.
What good thing in you might actually be a gift you received rather than something you made?
