Kingdoms Rise and Fall in an Instant, His Instant

This world is Yours; You are the Lord of the Universe.

In an instant, You establish and disestablish. You distribute wealth as it pleases You. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

This world is Yours, and You are its Lord and Master.

In one instant You establish, and in one instant You take down. You give out wealth as it pleases You.

Kingdoms rise and fall in an instant, and the instant belongs to the One.
The deeper layer

The Pause answers the rubble with ownership: the world in which kingdoms rise and vanish belongs, always, to the One. "In an instant You establish and disestablish" — the same phrase-rhythm as the ruins outside the window. This is Hukam seen from the far side of catastrophe: what looked like the collapse of order was a movement within the order. It does not make the grief smaller; it makes the frame larger — large enough that the grief has somewhere to stand.

A Question to Sit With

If nothing we build is permanent, what is worth building?
