When the mind surrenders to the Lord Master, He bestows the support of the Truth. ||2||

In plain words

Let go of egotism and pride, and contemplative understanding is found.

When the mind surrenders to the Master, He gives the support of the Truth.

Pride is scaffolding; surrender trades it for foundation.
The deeper layer

This one says pride is like scaffolding, and surrender is like a real foundation.

Haumai is the ego, the me-first feeling. Its partner is garab, pride. The verse does not treat them as faults to feel bad about. They are blocks to remove. And removing them brings a quick reward: veechaar, clear, deep thinking. The mind thinks better once pride is gone.

The second line finishes the trade. The mind that has surrendered and accepted the Master gets the one support that never wobbles, the support of Truth.

Pride was a kind of support too. It was the self holding itself up. Think of scaffolding around a building. It looks strong, but it is not what holds the building up. Surrender trades the scaffolding for a real foundation.

A Question to Sit With

When has letting go of being right actually made you see more clearly?
