In plain words

Listen, O my mind, to the essence of all spiritual wisdom.

The Great Giver knows your condition completely. The treasure of the Name comes to the one turned toward the Guru.

The essence of all wisdom: you were never unknown in your need.
The deeper layer

The heart of all wisdom is this: the Giver already knows everything you need.

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad. It promises tat gi-aan, the essence of wisdom, like juice squeezed down to its strongest drop. Then it gives it in one line. Dayvan vaalaa sabh biDh jaanai — the Great Giver knows your whole condition, every detail, every hidden corner.

So there is no need to shout, or to explain yourself to heaven. The One already knows. Think of a good parent who sees you are hungry before you say a word. A lot of worry is really the fear that no one sees what we need. The essence of wisdom is that your need was always seen.

What is left is to receive. And the treasure of the Name opens to the one who turns toward the Guru.

A Question to Sit With

How would today feel different if you were sure that Someone already knew exactly what you need?
