In plain words

From the True Guru, the Lord is found, brothers and sisters.

The treasure of the Name is within — and the Perfect True Guru showed it to me.

The Guru gives nothing foreign — He lights the room you were already standing in.
The deeper layer

This is the pause line, the Rahao, the center of the shabad. It says the treasure was always inside, and the Guru helped me see it.

Two facts come in the right order. First, the treasure is antar, within, and it was there all along. Second, it took the Perfect Guru to show it. Dee-aa dikhaa-ee — he gave me the seeing.

The treasure was never missing. It was only in the dark. Think of walking into your room at night and flipping on the light. Nothing new arrives. You just see what was already there.

That is the Guru's whole job in one line. The Guru does not hand over something strange from far away. The Guru lights up the room you were already standing in.

A Question to Sit With

Who in your life has shown you something about yourself that you could not see alone?
