In plain words

The Gurmukh is the forever-happy bride — awe and devotion are her adornment.

Night and day she delights in her Beloved, keeping Truth enshrined in her heart.

Awe and devotion, worn together — reverence deepens love, and love warms reverence.
The deeper layer

The happy bride wears two things together: awe and love.

Bhai bhagat seegaar — awe and devotion are her adornment. Bhai is awe, deep respect. Bhagat is loving devotion. A nearby shabad uses a dyer's picture for this pair: awe prepares the cloth, and love is the color. Here the two are worn like jewelry. Respect gives love its depth. Love gives respect its warmth. Think of a coach you admire: you respect them, and you love being on their team.

Her happiness has a mark the world's marriages do not: sadaa, forever. It is new an-din, every night and day. The Beloved never grows old or wanders. And the Truth she keeps ur dhaar, held in her heart, never tarnishes.

A Question to Sit With

Who or what do you feel both wonder and love for at once — and what does that feel like?
