I am devoted, wholly given, to those who have delighted in their Beloved.
They live forever in His company — having emptied out the self from within.
Here the Guru himself bows to anyone who has tasted union with the One.
Tinaa vitahu bal jaa-o — I give myself up for them. It is the strongest way of showing honor in this tradition. And look who receives it. Not gods, not kings, but anyone, anywhere, who has truly tasted union with the Beloved. The Guru salutes the people who have found this, even among his own students. Being close to the One matters more than any title. Think of a head teacher clapping loudest for a student who has truly understood.
What makes them worthy? One thing only: vichahu aap gavaa-ay — they emptied the self from within. Living always with the Beloved and losing the ego are not two prizes. They are one fact, said two ways. Where the self is gone, He is there, always.
Who do you know that deserves reverence not for their position but for what they have become?
