Love That Has Soaked In Becomes a Steady Glow

naanak rang ratay naaraa-inai pi-aaray maatay sahj subhaa-ay. ||8||2||4||
Nanak, those who are imbued with the Love of the All-Pervading Lord, O Beloved, remain intoxicated with His Love, in natural ease. ||8||2||4||

In plain words

Those whose hearts are dyed through with love for the One who is everywhere stay glowing with a soft, natural, easy joy.

Love that has soaked all the way in becomes a soft, steady glow you carry everywhere.
The deeper layer

Love that has soaked all the way in becomes a quiet, steady glow.

Naanak rang ratay naaraa-inai pi-aaray — says Nanak, those dyed in the love of Naaraa-in, the One who is everywhere. Dyed means colored all the way through, like cloth soaked in color.

Maatay sahj subhaa-ay — they stay gently filled with joy, in easy, natural calm. Sahj is the word for a calm balance that is not forced. It is joy that has become your normal, not a rush you keep chasing.

So the Song of Separation ends not in missing but in this soft glow. Having met the Beloved, the lover now carries the Beloved everywhere, lit up from inside, like a lamp that stays on.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like to be quietly, steadily happy — not excited, just at ease?
