In plain words

When grace finally came to my house, all my dear ones gathered to celebrate my wedding.

Watching it unfold, my heart filled with joy: my Beloved has come to marry me.

When grace comes home, the long separation turns into a wedding.
The deeper layer

This one says that when grace comes home, the long wait turns into a wedding.

Guru Nanak uses the picture of the soul as a bride and the One as her Beloved Husband. Kar kirpaa apnai ghar aa-i-aa — "by His grace, He came to my home." Taa mil sakhee-aa kaaj rachaa-i-aa — then my friends gathered to celebrate the wedding.

In Raag Maajh, the soul-bride ached with viraha, the pain of being apart. Here that ache has turned into the wedding day itself. And notice how it starts: by His grace. The bride did not arrange this by trying harder. The Beloved came. Think of waiting and waiting for someone you love to visit, and then the door opens. The whole house fills with joy.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like when something you longed for finally arrives?
