Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

So sing — yes, sing the deep, thoughtful songs, all you brides.

The Life of the whole world has walked into my home.

The Life of the whole world has come home — so sing the deep songs.
The deeper layer

This is the pause line, the center of the shabad. It is pure celebration: sing, because the Life of the world has come home.

Gaavhu gaavhu kaamnee bibayk beechaar — "sing, sing, O brides, songs of wisdom and reflection." Notice what is sung. Not just noise, but bibayk beechaar, clear thinking and reflection. This joy is thoughtful, not silly.

Hamrai ghar aa-i-aa jagjeevan bhataar — "my Husband, the Life of the world, has come into my home." The One is not a private god for one person. The One is the life moving through everything. Think of a birthday party where the songs are full of love and meaning, not just loud.

A Question to Sit With

What would you sing about if your heart were completely full?
