The whole of heaven turned out to watch — angels, sages, and countless shining ones came to see the joy.
Kabir says: I've been wedded to the One, the Supreme, forever.
This one says when a humble heart joins the One, all of heaven celebrates.
The shabad ends with everyone coming to the party. Sur nar mun jan ka-utak aa-ay — angels, holy people, and quiet sages come to see the wonder. Kot taytees means the countless heavenly beings of old stories, said to number three hundred thirty million.
All of heaven turns out for the wedding of a humble weaver's soul. Kabir was a weaver, a working man. Think of a whole crowd standing to cheer for one quiet kid crossing the finish line. The joining of one loving heart to the One draws the joy of all creation.
Kabir's last word is quiet joy. Mohi bi-aahi chalay — He has married me and taken me along. When your heart joins the One, it isn't a small thing. You, however humble, are the honored one in the middle. You matter that much.
How does it feel to imagine that your own small heart matters enough for all of heaven to celebrate?
