When the Grasping Ego Quiets, You See All as Equal

ਸਰਬ ਭੂਤ ਏਕੈ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਚੂਕੇ ਬਾਦ ਬਿਬਾਦਾ ॥
sarab bhoot aykai kar jaani-aa chookay baad bibaadaa.
I look upon all beings alike, and my conflict and strife are ended.

Says Kabir, when the Lord showed His Favor, I obtained Him, the Perfect One. ||3||6||28||

In plain words

Now I see every living being as the same — all equally worthy — and my fighting and strife are over.

Kabir says: when the One showed its kindness, I found the Perfect One.

When the grasping ego quiets, you start seeing every person as equal — and most of your conflicts simply end.
The deeper layer

Kabir names the beautiful fruit of all this emptying: I look upon all beings alike, and my conflict and strife are ended. When the grasping ego quiets, something wonderful happens to how you see people: the walls of 'me versus them,' 'better than / less than' dissolve, and you see every being as the same — equally worthy, equally lit by the One. And with that equal vision, the fighting stops — because most conflict comes from the ego's ranking and grasping, which are now gone. Kabir credits it all to grace: when the Lord showed His Favor, I obtained the Perfect One. For a child, the whole shabad lands here: the peace of a quiet heart shows up as kindness — seeing everyone as equal, and having no more need to fight.

A Question to Sit With

How might seeing everyone as equally worthy make quarrels and fights fade away?
