Pain and pleasure are in the Hands of God, the True Creator. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One is here, present, right now — so bring your prayer to it.

Both pain and pleasure rest in the hands of the True Creator.

The One is present right now — and both your hard days and your good days rest in the same hands.
The deeper layer

The Pause names the One as "the Presence Ever-present" — not distant, addressable now. And it places both pain and pleasure in the same loving hands, defusing the panic of bad fortune and the pride of good fortune alike. This is the deep trust that runs through Raag Gauree's "sleep in peace, do not worry."

A Question to Sit With

How might your day feel different if you trusted that the hard parts were held too?
