ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥
gur parsaadee durmat kho-ee.
By Guru's Grace, evil-mindedness is destroyed.
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥
jah daykhaa tah ayko so-ee. ||3||
Wherever I look, there I find the One Lord. ||3||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
By grace the meanness in me is undone,
and now wherever I look, I find the One and only One.
When the meanness lifts, your eyes change — and you start seeing the One everywhere.
This one says that when meanness leaves the heart, you see the One everywhere.
gur parsaadee durmat kho-ee — by the Guru's grace, durmat is gone. Durmat means bad or mean thinking. Then comes the second gift: jah daykhaa tah ayko so-ee — wherever I look, I see the One.
These are really one gift. When the meanness lifts, the eyes change. Think of cleaning a foggy window. The garden outside was always there. Now you can see it.
The cleaning inside and the seeing outside happen together.
