In plain words

O Baba, the mind drinks this Nectar of the Name and is happily intoxicated. It stays lost in the One's love.

Night and day, held in that love, the heavenly music of the Word rings on.

This intoxication doesn't dull you — it tunes you to a music that never stops.
The deeper layer

This is the pause line, the Rahao, the center of the shabad. It says this nectar fills the mind with joy and tunes it to music.

Baabaa man matvaaro naam ras peevai — O Baba, the mind drinks the Name's nectar and is happily intoxicated. It stays soaked in the One's love. Day and night, the Word's heavenly music, the Anhad, rings on. Anhad means music that never stops.

Think of a song you love that plays in your head all day. It does not make you clumsy or sleepy. It makes you light and glad. This kind of joy does not dull the mind or wreck a life. It tunes the soul to a music that never ends.

A Question to Sit With

What absorbs you so completely and so well that you lose track of time?
