In the one thing and in the many, the One is present — wherever I look, there it is.
The glittering show of the world is so dazzling that few people see the One behind it.
Now the raag turns to another Bhagat — Naam Dayv, remembered in tradition as a humble cloth-worker, who became a great devotee-poet. He opens with a vision of the One in everything: in the one and in the many, He is pervading — wherever I look, there He is. The One isn't hidden in some far place; it's everywhere you look. But there's a catch: Maya's marvellous image is so fascinating that few understand. The glittering show of the world is so dazzling and captivating that most people get lost in the surface and miss the One shining through it. For a child, this sets up Naam Dayv's whole beautiful teaching: the One is right in front of you, in everything — you just have to look past the dazzle to see it.
What might you see if you looked 'past the dazzle' of shiny things to what's behind them?
