Aasaa, Fourth Mehl:
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
mayrai man tan paraym naam aaDhaar.
The Love of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the Support of my mind and body.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀ ਨਾਮੋ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
naam japee naamo sukh saar. ||1||
I chant the Naam; the Naam is the essence of peace. ||1||

I chant the Name — the Name is the very essence of peace.
The Name isn't a path to peace — it is peace itself, distilled.
Guru Ram Das states the Name as support (aadhaar) — the thing holding up both mind and body. And he names it "the essence of peace": not a means to peace, but peace itself, distilled. The Name is not one help among many; it is the ground the whole self rests on.
