O Master Pandit, please teach me this.
How can I find the Lord of my life?
The best question to ask a wise person is simply: how do I find the One who gives me life?
Under all the riddles sits one question: how do I find the One who gives me life?
This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line. It is the center of the whole shabad. The verse asks, kin biDh paava-o paraanpatee — by what way can I find the Lord of my life and breath?
It is like a student who loves tricky puzzles, then finally puts up a hand and asks the teacher the question that matters most. The puzzles were there to lead us here. The goal is finding the way home.
A Question to Sit With
If you could ask a very wise person one question, what would it be?
