There is fire hidden inside the green plants that bloom, and the whole wide ocean is tied up in a bundle.
The sun and the moon live in the same home in the sky. You have not found this kind of knowing.
The world is full of hidden wonders, and seeing them takes more than knowing facts.
Guru Nanak points at wonders all around us, and tells the learned man he has not yet found this kind of knowing.
Look at the images. Fire hides inside green plants — the same plants that burn in a campfire. The huge ocean is tied up in a bundle. The sun and the moon share one home in the sky. Each picture should make us say "wow."
Sikhs call that feeling vismaad, deep wonder at how amazing the world is. Think of the difference between reading about the stars in a book and lying outside on a clear night, looking up. Both teach you something. Only one fills you with awe. That deeper knowing, gi-aan, is the door the Guru means.
What is something in nature that seems almost impossible when you stop and think about it?
