In plain words

The season of spring has come, so fresh and delightful.

Those who are dyed in Your love, O One, sing Your Name with joy.

Whom else would I worship? At whose feet would I bow?

When the whole world feels alive with spring, it is the One you are loving.
The deeper layer

Spring has come, and all its beauty belongs to the One. Who else could you give your love to?

Think of dyeing a white T-shirt. Some colors wash out the first time it goes in the machine. A good dye soaks all the way into the threads and stays. Rang raatay means "dyed with love" in just that way. It is a favorite picture in Gurbani, the Guru's words. The love is soaked right through, and it does not wash out.

People dyed like that sing the Naam with joy. Then come the closing questions: kis pooj charhaava-o laga-o paa-ay — whom else should I worship, at whose feet should I bow? These questions do not turn anyone away. They are what a full heart says once it has found the Source of everything. After that, it sees the One wherever it looks.

A Question to Sit With

When you feel happy on a beautiful day, where do you think that feeling comes from?
