A Clear, Clean Mind

say jan saachay jinee saach pachhaani-aa.
True are those humble beings who realize the True Lord.
aap maar sehjay naam samaani-aa.
Conquering their self-conceit, they merge intuitively into the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
gurmukh naam paraapat ho-ay.
The Gurmukhs gather in the Naam.
man nirmal nirmal sach so-ay. ||3||
Their minds are immaculate, and their reputations are immaculate. ||3||

In plain words

True are those who come to know the True One.

Setting down the pushy just-me feeling, they melt easily into the Naam.

Facing the Guru, they receive the Naam.

Their minds are clean and clear, and their good name is clean and clear too.

A clear mind shows up as a clear life.
The deeper layer

Knowing the True One and setting down self-importance makes the mind clear, and your life shows it.

Aap maar (subduing self-conceit) is again the gentle softening of haumai. Nirmal appears twice: a clean mind and a clean so-ay (the way one is seen) — inner clarity showing outwardly.

A Question to Sit With

What clears your mind when it feels cluttered?
