ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਣੁ ਅਵਗਣੁ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ॥
mayraa gun avgan na beechaari-aa.

The One did not weigh up my good points and my faults.
Nanak says: I bow in love at the One's feet.
You are welcomed without anyone tallying up your mistakes first.
The One welcomes us without keeping score.
Mayraa gun avgan na beechaari-aa — the One did not weigh my good points and my faults. Gun means a good quality; avgan means a fault. There is no scoreboard of right and wrong.
Nanak answers with love. Parabh naanak charan poojaaree-aa — Nanak bows in love at the One's feet.
Think of a best friend who never brings up your old mistakes. You just want to stay close to a friend like that.
