Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You never slip; You never lose the way, not once.

Those who listen to the Guru's Word grow deep in understanding.

You, my Great Master, live inside the Word.

Nanak says: my mind is at peace, praising the True One.

Listen deeply and understanding grows deep; the heart comes to rest.
The deeper layer

The One never slips, and a mind that listens to the Word grows deep and comes to rest.

Too abhul na bhoolou: You never make a mistake; only the human mind wanders. Gur sabad sunaae mat agaahi: listening to the Word makes understanding deep. Nanak closes with the mind at peace, praising sach, the Truth.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you understand more deeply the more quietly you listen?
