In plain words

By the One's own creative power, all of creation was made.

The King of kings gives true justice.

The Guru's teaching, the best of all, is always with us, right beside us.

The Naam of the One, a treasure and a fountain of nectar, comes easily.

The Naam is sweet nectar, and it comes easily.
The deeper layer

The One made everything, keeps it fair, and stays near.

Aapay kudrat karay saaj — by the One's own creative power, all creation was shaped. Kudrat means nature, everything that is made. The One is the King of kings, who nibayrhay, settles every matter fairly.

Then the verse comes closer. Gurmat ootam sang saath — the Guru's teaching is always with us, like a friend walking beside us. Har naam rasaa-in sahj aath — the Naam, a source of sweetness, is gained sahj, easily.

Think of a water fountain at school. You do not have to build it or buy the water. You just walk up and drink. Grace is like that: near, and within reach.

A Question to Sit With

What is something wonderful that turns out to be simpler than you expected?
