In plain words

Kabir, the weaver, remembered the One with a single love.

Namdev lived with the Dear One. Ravidas remembered the One, beautiful beyond compare.

Guru Nanak is the very form of the Lord of the World.

A weaver, a printer, a cobbler — all shone with the One love, and no caste stood in the way.
The deeper layer

Kabir, Namdev and Ravidas loved the One with all their hearts, and in Guru Nanak the One took living form.

These are three well-loved bhagats, or devotees. In their time, people looked down on their work and family background. Kabeer Dhi-aa-i-o ayk rang means Kabir, a weaver, remembered the One with a single-hearted love. Naamdayv har jee-o baseh sang means the Dear One lived with Namdev, a cloth-printer. Ravidas, a shoemaker, remembered the One who is beautiful beyond compare.

Guru Arjan places them among saints and kings, with no one above anyone else. Think of a class photo where everyone stands in the same row.

The last line finishes the song. Gur naanak dayv govind roop means Guru Nanak is the very form of Govind, the One who cares for the universe. The One who held all these people close also came as the Guru who taught that everyone is equal.

A Question to Sit With

Why do you think these songs name people of humble trades right next to kings and saints?
