Verse 2 of 4

Everywhere I Look, the Same Blossoming

ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਅਨਤ ਭਾਇ ॥
raajaa raam ma-oli-aa anat bhaa-ay.
My Sovereign Lord King blossoms forth in countless ways.
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਉ ਤਹ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jah daykh-a-u tah rahi-aa samaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Wherever I look, I see Him there pervading. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Raam, my King, blossoms in countless ways.

Wherever I look, I see the One there, filling everything.

The One you love is already blooming wherever you happen to look.
The deeper layer

The One blossoms in countless ways and fills every place you look.

This is the rahaa-o, the pause line, the center of the shabad. Raajaa raam ma-oli-aa anat bhaa-ay: Raam, the King, blossoms in countless ways. Jah daykh-a-u tah rahi-aa samaa-ay: wherever I look, that presence is already there.

A Question to Sit With

If you looked closely right now, where might you notice that same aliveness?
