In plain words

Sanak and Sanandan, Shiva and Suk Dev, and Brahma, born from the lotus —

the poets, and the yogis with their long matted hair —

all of them lived their own turn, and lived it well.

Everyone gets a turn — what matters is what you do with yours.
The deeper layer

Even the greatest sages and yogis each had only their own turn in life.

Sanak sanandan siv sukaad: famous sages and holy figures from the old stories of India. Naabh kamal: the lotus from the navel, from which, in those stories, Brahma was born. Kab jan jogee jataadhaar: the poets, and the yogis with matted hair. Sabh aapan a-osar chalay saar: each lived out their own turn, and lived it well.

Think of runners in a relay race. Each one carries the baton for one stretch, then hands it on. Everyone gets a turn, however great they are.

A Question to Sit With

What is one thing you would like to do with the turn you have right now?
