Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Whoever has good karma written on their forehead
hurries into the shelter of the Guru.
Namdev says: think about this,
O saints, this is the way to cross over to the other side.
When your goodness ripens, shelter and safe passage are waiting.
The Guru's shelter is the way across, and those whose good karma has ripened hurry to it.
Jaa kay mastak likhi-o karmaa: whoever has good karma written on the forehead, an old picture for the good that ripens in a life. So bhaj par hai gur kee sarnaa: they run into the Guru's shelter. Kahat naamday-o ih beechaar: Namdev says, think about this. In bidh santahu utarahu paar: O saints, this is how you cross over.
