In plain words

The council of wicked people met and made a plan to end Prahlaad's life.

They threw him from a mountain, into the water and into the fire, but Raam, the Sovereign King, kept him safe and turned the laws of nature around.

The One watches over a trusting heart, all the way through.
The deeper layer

The One kept Prahlaad safe through every danger.

Dusat sabhaa mil mantar upaa-i-aa means "a gathering of wicked people met and made a plan." Dusat means wicked. Karsah a-odh ghanayree means they planned to cut his life short.

Then gir tar jal ju-aalaa bhai raakhi-o: through mountain, water and fire, he was kept safe. Raajaa raam maa-i-aa fayree means the Sovereign One turned the ways of the world around. The rules of nature bent to protect him.

Think of a lighthouse in a storm. The waves crash again and again, and the light keeps shining. Love is guarded, whatever comes against it.

If someone is being unkind to you or hurting you, that is never something you have to accept. Telling a grown-up you trust is always the right thing to do.

A Question to Sit With

Who are the people who help keep you safe?
