Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Beating wings play like music in the air.

The Lord of the Universe comes, riding Garura, the great eagle.

Sometimes, after the long wait, help arrives all at once.
The deeper layer

After the long wait, help comes with the sound of great wings.

Paakhantan baaj bajaa-ilaa: the feathered wings play like an instrument. Garurh charhay gobind aa-ilaa: Gobind, the Lord of the Universe, arrives riding Garura, the great eagle of the old Indian stories. The picture comes from the storytelling world Namdev and his listeners shared. The long wait breaks, and help arrives with the force of the whole sky.

A Question to Sit With

Can you remember a time help came right when you needed it?
