Celebrate and praise the Great Giver! ||3||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The Great Giver gives the gifts.
Cheer and praise the Great Giver!
Everything is a gift; the natural reply is a glad thank-you.
The Great Giver keeps giving, and the glad answer is a cheer of praise.
Aapay daat karay daataar: the daataar, the Great Giver, gives the gifts. Dayvanhaaray ka-o jaikaar: cheer for the One who gives! Jaikaar is a joyful shout of praise. Guru Nanak sings the same in Japji: the Giver keeps giving, and gratitude is the answer to grace.
