In plain words

Loving worship of the One is the pure way to live.

In the Sangat, the company of the holy, the love of things apart from the One vanishes.

Turning toward the One quietly melts the walls between people.
The deeper layer

Loving the One is the pure way to live, and in the Sangat the feeling of being split apart melts away.

AaraaDhan means turning to the One with love. The Guru calls it nirmal reet, a clean, clear way of living. Nothing to hide, nothing to fake.

Then comes saadhsang, the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One. There, bipreet goes away. Bipreet is the feeling of "me against everyone," of being cut off and separate. It grows from haumai, the self that thinks it stands alone.

Think of two kids who argue on the first day of camp. By the end of the week, singing around the same fire, they are friends. The Sangat does that. The cold wall between people melts in its warmth.

A Question to Sit With

When has being with the right people made you feel less separate?
