Blended Into The One

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਲੀਏ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
kar kirpaa parabh lee-ay milaa-ay.
Granting His Grace, God has blended me with Himself.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਆਏ ॥੪॥੭॥
naanak parabh sarnaagat aa-ay. ||4||7||
Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of God. ||4||7||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

In kindness, the One has blended me into the One, like a drop going back into the sea.

Nanak says: I have come into the shelter of the One.

Grace opens, and the separate drop rejoins the sea.
The deeper layer

By grace, the One blends you back into the One.

Kar kirpaa prabh lee-ay milaa-ay: by grace, blended into the One. Sarnaagat is the shelter you step into. Grace is a gift that is already here; you open to it. The merging is like a drop rejoining the ocean, the feeling of being a separate self, ego (haumai), melting away.

A Question to Sit With

What does the word home mean to you?
