Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Live, live, live forever.
Rise early each day and drink in the sweet nectar of the One, like cool water on a hot day.
With your tongue, say the One's name: Har, Har, Har, Har.
Wake early, drink the sweetness, and fully live.
Rise early, drink the One's sweetness, say the Naam, and you live.
This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the centre of the shabad. Jeevat jeevat jeevat rahhu: live, live, live. It goes with rising early to drink the raam rasaa-in, the nectar of the One, and saying the Naam. This is the amrit vela, the quiet hours near dawn, and the saying of the Naam is a joy.
