Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O mind, set your heart on loving devotion to the One.

Facing the Guru, repeat the Naam of the One in your heart, and you will go home with easy calm.

Loving the One is the quiet road back to the calm place that was always inside you.
The deeper layer

Loving the One, with the Naam in your heart, brings you home with easy calm.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Raam bhagat chit laa-ee-ai: set your mind on devotion to the One. Sahj saytee ghar jaa-ee-ai: go home with easy calm, in sahaj, the soul's natural, unforced rest.

Home here is the calm place inside you. Think of walking into your own room after a long trip and letting your bag drop.

A Question to Sit With

Where or when do you feel most at home in yourself?
