Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O my Lord and Master, please listen to the prayer of Your saint.

I place my soul, my breath of life and all I own before You.

This whole world is Yours, and all of it remembers You. Nanak says: be kind to me, and bless me with peace.

You can lay everything you have before what you trust.
The deeper layer

Everything you have, your life, your breath, all you own, can be placed before the One.

Sun su-aamee santan ardaas: hear the prayer of Your saint. Jee-o paraan dhan tumhrai paas: soul, breath and wealth are laid before the One, a whole offering. Ih jag tayraa: this world is Yours. The peace Nanak asks for comes as a gift, kar kirpaa, through kindness.

A Question to Sit With

If you could set down every worry in one safe place, what would you set down first?
