Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The Guru's Word has cleared away sickness and wrongdoing.

My mind has taken in the medicine of the Naam.

Meeting the Guru, my mind is full of joy.

All treasures are in the Naam of the Lord.

The right inner medicine heals what money cannot reach.
The deeper layer

The Guru's Word works like medicine, and the Naam is the cure that holds every treasure.

Rog dokh gur sabad nivaaray: the Word clears away sickness and wrong.

Naam aukhadh means the Naam as medicine. This picture comes up again and again in Gurbani, the Guru's words. The sickness is our puffed-up self, the "me first" feeling that makes us restless.

Think of taking medicine for a fever. Slowly the ache fades, and you feel like yourself again. Man bheetar saaray says this medicine goes deep inside the mind.

Gur bhaytat man bha-i-aa anand: meeting the Guru, the mind fills with joy. Sarab nidhaan naam bhagvant: every treasure is in the Naam.
