Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Very lucky is the one who loves the Naam.
In that person's company, the whole world crosses over the sea.
Stay near people who love the Naam, and the crossing gets easier.
Lucky is the one who loves the Naam, and in their company others cross the sea of the world too.
This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. So vadbhaagee jis naam pi-aar: lucky is the person who loves the Naam. Tis kai sang tarai sansaar: in their company, the world crosses over.
Sansaar is the world, pictured as a wide sea full of trouble. Think of learning to swim with a good coach beside you. The water is the same, but now you can get across.
