Nanak is forever a sacrifice to those, who enshrine the Lord's Name within their hearts. ||8||2||3||

In plain words

You Yourself are clear and clean, and clear and clean are Your humble ones who think deeply on the Guru's word.

Nanak says: I give myself, again and again, to those who keep the Naam of Raam, the One, in their hearts.

You grow clear and clean by keeping something clear and clean within you.
The deeper layer

The One is pure, and the One's people grow pure by keeping the Naam in their hearts.

Toon aap nirmal tayray jan hai nirmal — You are nirmal, clear and clean, and Your people become clear and clean too. Gur kai sabad veechaaray — they do it by thinking deeply on the Guru's word.

Naanak tin kai sad balihaarai — Nanak says, "I give my whole self to them." Raam naam ur dhaaray — these are the ones who hold the Naam in their hearts.

This kind of clean grows from inside, like a spring that keeps a pond fresh. The Naam, kept in the heart, makes a person clear.

A Question to Sit With

Who is someone whose quiet goodness you would like to be near more often?
