O Nanak, meditate in remembrance on God, and nurture this body. ||2||

In plain words

Keep what's good and true right at the center of your heart, and speak kind words with your mouth.

Remembering the One is how you truly take care of this one precious life.

Filling your heart with good, true things is a real way of taking care of yourself.
The deeper layer

The companion Shalok (Fifth Mehl) gives the positive: "let the Lotus Feet of the Lord abide within your heart, and with your tongue chant God's Name... nurture this body." Where P40 warned of the flavorless life, P41 gives the recipe for a nourished one — remembrance is framed as self-care, the way you truly "nurture" the gift of a body and a life. Not neglect of the body, but its deepest tending. For a child: taking care of your heart with good, true thoughts is a real way of looking after yourself.

A Question to Sit With

What's one good thing you could 'feed' your heart today to take care of it?
