Sikhism·Raag Bilaaval·Shabad 10
Verse 5 of 6

Wherever I Look, the One Is There

ਇਸੁ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪਾਈ ॥
is jug meh vadi-aa-ee paa-ee.
I have obtained glorious greatness in this age,
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
pooray gur tay naam Dhi-aa-ee.
from the Perfect Guru, meditating on the Naam.
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
jah daykhaa tah rahi-aa samaa-ee.
Wherever I look, I see the Lord permeating and pervading.
ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥
sadaa sukh-daata keemat nahee paa-ee. ||4||
He is forever the Giver of peace; His worth cannot be estimated. ||4||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

In this very life I found a quiet greatness, receiving the Name from the perfect Guru.

Now, wherever I turn my eyes, the One is there, filling everything. Forever the Giver of peace — and no one could ever put a price on that.

Once you find the One within, you start to see it filling everything without.
The deeper layer

Jah dekhaa tah rahi-aa samaa-ee — wherever I look, the One is spread through everything — is the sarab viaapak seeing, the direct fruit of the inward turn. What was found within is now recognized everywhere without.

A Question to Sit With

When you feel peaceful, how does the whole world around you look different?
