Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

With my mind, my body and my tongue, I recognise the One.

Joy has come, and my worries are gone.

The Guru has given me every kind of peace.

Peace is what is left when worry lets go.
The deeper layer

When the whole of you remembers the One, worry melts and peace arrives as a gift.

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line. It holds the whole shabad together.

Man tan rasnaa har cheenHaa means "with mind, body, and tongue, I keep the One in view." Man is the mind, tan is the body, rasnaa is the tongue. The whole person faces one way.

Bha-ay anandaa mitay andaysay means joy comes and andaysay, worries, disappear. Sarab sookh mo ka-o gur deenHaa means the Guru has given me every kind of peace. It is received as a gift, not won like a prize.

Think of a night before a big test, when your mind keeps spinning. Then someone you trust sits beside you, and your breathing slows. The worry had nowhere left to stand.

A Question to Sit With

What worry gets quieter when you remember you are held?
