From a Small Creature, a King

khin meh thaap nivaajay thaakur neech keet tay karahi raajangaa. ||1||
In an instant, our Lord and Master establishes and exalts. From a lowly worm, He creates a king. ||1||

In plain words

In a single instant the One can raise up and honor anybody. The One can turn the smallest, most overlooked creature into royalty.

No one is too small or overlooked to be lifted high.
The deeper layer

The One can lift up anyone in a moment.

Khin meh thaap nivaajay thaakur — in an instant, the Master sets up and honors. Neech keet tay karahi raajangaa — from a tiny worm, the One makes a king.

The point is that a person's worth is not fixed by birth or rank. In Guru Arjan's time, society ranked people from birth, by caste. This line quietly says no to that. The One can lift the most overlooked person to the highest place, in a moment.

Think of the kid picked last for a team who turns out to be the star. The worth was there all along. It just needed to be seen.

A Question to Sit With

Who is someone easy to overlook that you could treat like they matter?
