I have found friendship, and hatred has been eradicated; the Lord has rooted out the enemies and villains.

Nanak has been blessed with celestial peace and poise and total bliss; chanting the Glorious Praises of the Lord, he lives. ||2||26||112||

In plain words

Friendship has grown where bad feeling used to be, and the One has rooted out the harm and the troublemakers.

Nanak says: ease, calm and joy came pouring in; I come alive by singing the goodness of the One.

When ill-will dissolves, friendship has room to grow in its place.
The deeper layer

Where ill-will melts away, friendship grows in its place.

Bha-ee mitraa-ee mitee buraa-ee — friendship grows as ill-will dissolves, a picture of making up. Sookh sahj aanand ghanayray — peace, ease and joy in plenty. Naanak jeevai har gunah vakhaan — Nanak lives by singing the One's goodness. Think of two friends who finally talk after a fight and both feel lighter right away.

A Question to Sit With

How could a little friendliness turn a bad feeling into a better one?
