The True Guru has arranged all my affairs; chanting and meditating with the Holy Saints, I have become happy. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The Supreme One, God, has turned kind to me.

The Guru has set all my work right; chanting and remembering along with the Guru's people, I am filled with joy.

When kindness meets us, tangled things quietly come untangled.
The deeper layer

When the One turns kind, tangled things come untangled.

Paarbarahm prabh bha-ay kirpaal -- the Supreme One becomes merciful. Kaaraj sagal savaaray satgur -- the Guru sets every task right. Jap jap saadhoo bha-ay nihaal -- remembering again and again alongside holy people brings joy. Think of a knotted necklace that a patient friend works loose, one loop at a time.

This is the Rahao, the pause at the centre of the shabad.

A Question to Sit With

When was a time something worked out that you had almost given up on?
