Safe and sound, we have returned home, while the slanderer's face is blackened.

Says Nanak, my True Guru is Perfect; by the Grace of God and Guru, I am so happy. ||2||27||113||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Safe and sound, we have come home, and every wish to hurt us has faded to nothing.

Nanak says: my Guru is perfect; by the grace of God and the Guru, I am filled with joy.

You can come through hard things whole, and the trouble can lose its sting.
The deeper layer

You can come through hard things whole.

Sahee salaamat mil ghar aa-ay -- home again, safe and sound, while the unkind words aimed at you fade away. Kaho naanak mayraa satgur pooraa -- my Guru is perfect, lacking nothing. Gur parsaad -- by grace, received as a gift. Think of walking in the front door after a long, hard day and smelling dinner.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you feel like yourself again after a rough day?
