Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
I remember the feet of the One, and I give my whole self to Them.
My Guru is the Supreme One, God above all; I keep Him in my heart and fix my mind on Him.
What you keep in your heart shapes where your mind goes to rest.
What you keep in your heart becomes the place your mind rests.
Har kay charan jap -- remembering the feet of the One; feet stand for nearness and shelter. Gur mayraa paarbarahm parmaysur -- my Guru is the Supreme One. Hirdai Dhar man Dhi-aan -- holding that One in the heart and settling the mind's attention there.
A Question to Sit With
Where does your mind go when it finally gets quiet?
