O Lord of beautiful hair, Destroyer of pain, Eradicator of sins, Nanak lives, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||2||9||125||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
I have come to Your shelter, You who take away pain; let me hold You in mind in the Sangat.
You who lift away hurt and set mistakes right -- Nanak says, just seeing You, I come fully alive.
Turning toward what heals you is always open, and it brings you back to life.
saran dukh bhanjan -- shelter with the breaker of pain. saadhoo sangat ravan -- dwelling on the One in the Sangat. jeevat daras disay -- coming alive at the sight of the One. The drift of the last verse answered by the turning-back of this one. Closes at ||125||.
saadhoo sangat is the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One.
A Question to Sit With
Where do you go, or who do you turn to, to feel like yourself again?
