In plain words

When the great elephant was trapped and afraid, he finally cried out for help. His fear lifted the very moment he called. Help came that fast.

And a small child, no bigger than you, listened to a wise teacher. He turned his heart toward the One. He became so peaceful and steady that the whole world noticed.

When you call for help from the heart, help is already on its way.
The deeper layer

Help comes fast, as two old stories remember.

First, the elephant. In an old story, a great elephant named Gajendra was caught in a river and could not get free. Gaj kee taraas mitee chhinhoo meh — the elephant's fear left in an instant. Jab hee raam bakhaano — the moment he called the One's Name.

Second, a child. Naarad kahat sunat Dharoo-a baarik — the child Dhroo listened to the wise teacher Naarad. Bhajan maahi laptaano — and he was wrapped up in loving remembrance.

These stories are told with respect. They show two things. A true call is always answered. And no one is too young to turn toward the One. Dhroo was just a kid, maybe your age.

A Question to Sit With

Who is someone you can call on when you feel stuck or scared?
