In plain words

The kind and boundless One carried me across the wide water.

The perfect Guru, so gentle, cleared away my doubt and my fear.

Wanting and anger, those wild troublemakers inside, quietly lost their power.

I have tucked the treasure of the Name into my very heart.

Nanak says: in the Sangat, the whole long circle of my life was set right.

The hardest crossings are made by mercy and the Sangat.
The deeper layer

The eleventh numbered Pauri (Guru Ram Das), warm and grateful. Da-i-aal saagar -- the "ocean of mercy" -- carries the soul across. Kaam krodh bikraal doot (craving and anger, the "fierce troublemakers") are said to haari-aa -- to lose, to run out of power -- rendered as their grip loosening rather than a violent destruction. The saving grace is saadhoo sang, the Sangat: janam maran savaari-aa, the whole life set right. Note it is all received -- carried, cleared, set right -- never self-achieved.

A Question to Sit With

Who has helped carry you through something hard that you couldn't have managed alone?
